Episode # 318 - 2009: The Year in Theater

Saviana Stanescu
For our final episode of 2009, Martin Denton has invited two indie artists to join him in a roundup of memorable moments in theatre this year. Also, Martin's guests will give us a broad overview of their time spent abroad this past year, by bringing their work to other countries and as theatregoers in these places outside NYC.
Kevin Doyle is a playwright and director and with his company, Sponsored by Nobody, he spent several months in Belgium in the beginning of the year. He traveled to several other countries during that time and has found some interesting comparisons to share about theatre both here and abroad.
Saviana Stanescu is a playwright born in Romania whose latest play Aliens With Extraordinary Skills seen recently at The Women's Project will soon premiere in Mexico. Her recent trip to Mexico plus several trips during the past year to other cities in Europe give her many things to say about theatre in and outside the U.S.
