Episode # 301 - Playwrights in Conversation: Lisa Ferber & Todd Michael

Todd Michael and Lisa Ferber
A new episode in the Playwrights in Conversation series is also another discussion about a new play opening shortly in FringeNYC. Lisa Ferber, playwright and reviewer for nytheatre.com, met Todd Michael when she reviewed his first FringeNYC show and they later became friends and worked together. So she is well equipped to talk about Todd's plays and his thoughts on being a playwright.
Todd's newest entry in the festival is entitled Buddy Beckers Big Uncut Flick and he begins the conversation with a quick overview of the piece and then talks with Lisa about some of the actors who will be in it; many of whom she recognizes. Lisa questions Todd about why he writes satire and how he became a writer.
Which came first: Todd wanting to write a play so he could appear in it in drag or Wanting to act in drag so he wrote a play with the perfect role for himself? You will have to listen to find out.
