Episode # 286 - Bushwick Starr

Jake Hooker, Sue Kessler, and Noel Allain
For this episode, Martin Denton is joined by Sue Kessler, Noel Allain, and Jake Hooker to discuss a new venue in Brooklyn and the upcoming Bushwhack Series. Sue and Noel are the founders of The Bushwick Starr, now just about two years old. They take turns telling how and why they found this great performing space and their thoughts about its future. They both are hoping to make this a presenting space which they would curate.
The conversation turns to Jake and his production which is based on a Finnish play written in the early part of the 20th century. He talks about his interpretation of this work and how he is making this 3 act play into a 20 minute production.
Noel and Sue add to Jake's ideas with their own thoughts about how this exemplifies their goal of The Bushwick Starr being an incubator ' a place where artists can try out new work and receive the feedback that only a live audience can deliver.
