Andrew Irons and Carlos Lacamara
Continuing nytheatrecast's interviews with the playwrights in Plays and Playwrights 2009, Martin Denton chats with Carlos Lacamara, author of Nowhere on the Border, and Andrew Irons, author of Linus & Alora. Carlos and Andrew take turns giving a short synopsis of their plays, what inspired the writing of the plays, and a discussion of the themes inherent in them.
Most interesting in the discussion is Carlos talking about spending a week in the Arizona desert and its influence on the writing of the play and Andrew telling us some of the personal reasons that became the impetus for his play.
In addition both authors tell us something about their other interests; Carolos as a long time, successful actor on TV and Andrew as a dedicated teacher.
